I am a joint owner in a strata unit and have found that only one of us is notified by email of upcoming meetings. When asked about this the strata manager said that ‘accordance with the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015, there can only be one address for service of notices on a Lot Owner by the Owners Corporation.’ I am well aware that there is only one vote per lot but only one owner is able to get these notices…..

      Is this correct?

The strata manager is correct, according to the act

You may think why can’t they just accomodate my request. The answer is that the software that most strata managers use to manage most aspects of strata don’t allow for two addresses.

Its a bugbear of mine thst when I self managed a strata complex things like this were easy to do. When we went to management by a strata manager, there was less flexibility in any aspects of the management. If the software didn’t do it, there was no exceptions.

I know it’s a pain but create a gmail address for your strata communications.  Set that account to forward all messages to both your individual accounts.

Send a couple of test emails to the new gmail account to make sure it’s working then give the gmail address to the strata manager.

          Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy.
