      Hi all,

Do strata management companies have to disclose when they get some kind of kickback, commission, etc. from designating work to a particular trades company?

If you’re in NSW, the strata manager cannot receive a secret kickback or commission – see sections 249B ff of the Crimes Act.

That is very interesting. And I note it’s also a crime to offer a ‘benefit’. So both sides are in breach of the law.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
