Wondering what he situation is where the connecting water tap in my unit from the actual Main water to the unit will not turn off the water. It may be the entire tap or a washer. When I have tried to turn off at the main tap to replace a washer the water still runs through my internal taps. The Connecting tap ( main Valve-Cock ? ) is this an owners responsibility or OC repair to replace.

Secondly, do i require OC permission to make internal Alterations such as new kitchen, flooring, bathroom renovations.

Part of this exercise is removing part of an existing wall to allow natural light in the unit and enlarge my bathroom.

Replacing the main shut off tap at a unit is an OC responsibility. It usually requires the water supply to the building to be interrupted. I suggest you ask that the tap be replaced by a ball valve. These do not have a washer and give better shut off.

The work you describe requires OC approval. You will probably have to sign an indemnity form. An engineer’s report will be required for wall removal.
