One item that needs to be raised is Smoke Alarms. We have 2 in the house,1 downstairs and other upstairs.
The downstairs one started chirping like a canary for about a week and stopped. I asked a ex fireman friend about it and he said maybe the battery. He also said  IF the alarm is 10 years plus old it needs to be replaced
I have lived here 16 years and townhouses are over 17 years old and alarms have never been touched apart from inspection and new batteries every year.
I have contacted our managing agent to get new alarms fitted to 11 townhouses [22 in total]. He has been told but not sure what he plans are.
I spoke to 2 other owners about it and they were sending him emails to get some action. So in summary it maybe a good point to remind owners about this matter.

Whoever is doing the annual inspections and battery replacements should be checking the concurrency of the units and replacing them as necessary?

In my stratas, unless the internal lot smoke alarms are connected to a building’s central fire panel, they are considered to be a lot owner responsibility to maintain and replace.

I have strata managers that remind lot owners of that duty in every AGM notice.
