In 1965 our Strata Plan was registered with a note  “All balconies extend upwards to a height of 8′ from the floor of each”. The current awnings are 9′ above the floor of each and are attached to the common property walls by a bracket that is 8′ above the floor of the balconies.
The Strata Manager advises “There is no By-Law as such for the installation of the original awnings”.  Does this mean that maintenance is the responsibility of the Owners Corporation?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
