If you think we are too hard on NSW Fair Trading, consider this conversation from earlier this week.
The Flat Chat podcast’s co-host Sue Williams wanted to speak to Property Services Commissioner John Minns, so she called up the Fair Trading media department.
SUE: Can I get a number for John Minns, please?
FT Media: Who?
SUE: John Minns?
FT Media: Never heard of him.
SUE: He’s the Property Services Commissioner.
FT Media: Nope. I can get you a number for Chris Minns.
SUE: The leader of the opposition?
FT Media: Yeah. Do you want his number?
SUE: Not really. Thanks. Bye!
OK, she should have been calling Customer Services and Better Regulation (or is it Customer Regulation and Better Services?) but you would think that someone would in Fair Trading know a) that there is a property services commissioner, since there is a huge overlap in their roles, and b) what he’s called.
