I am in a large modern strata development and we have one owner who had removed the door closer from his apartment door. When a new one had to be installed so the strata could pass the annual inspection we now know that the owner promptly removed it again. (He will be charged for the cost and fitting of the new closer of course.)

This is clearly a breach of the fire regulations that requires a door closer to be fitted on a fire door and puts all the other residents in danger should a fire break out in that apartment and the door not close.

He say he has removed the closer because he feels “unsafe” with it attached.

Is it possible to get the Fire Brigade involved or do we just have to go through the whole CTTT process?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
