Building inspection expert for report – recommendation

      Hi all

      We are a new 5 storey building, new committee , new new new…inexperienced!

      We are looking to engage in defects inspection (we are in 6th of 24 month of our stat warranty) as per the OFT ‘Dealing with Building Defects’ Factsheet which recommends inspection at 12-18 month mark.

      So far we have submitted common property defects list to builder, but we are not expecting much of a response. We anticipate the need to do a full health check of the building. We have started preliminary discussions with legal.

      Can anyone recommend a good Building Inspection Expert who can 

      a) identify defects, determine cause and list action 

      b) identify not only the visible defects but also potential issues with roof, balcony 

      I have obtained most of the DA proposals, certificates etc from builder (after months of nagging) is there any other documents which might assist the process? What should we budget for 48 units (I think we will be doing just common property and not individual units)
