This question is sparked by the new Act effective on 1/12/2016.

I understand there are new model bylaws that can be considered and adopted by Owners Corporations.  Until this is done the old by laws are still in force.

We have the old model by laws, one of which prevents screwing hooks into common property.  The new act allows this activity.

I understand that a by law cannot override the act.

So, can I screw hooks into common property (as allowed by the new act) before the old bylaws are either altered or replaced by new bylaws?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
