Our Executive Committee, of which I am secretary, has sought legal advice in advance of introducing a by-law to prevent short term lets.

It appears that a by-law can be ignored in our area (R4 Zone)  if an owner applies to the Council for permission to let property as back-packer , bed and breakfast, or hostel accommodation.

Would it be usual for the Council to seek the views of the Owners’ Corporation before granting such permission?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
