      Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can provide some advice, im a FHO and new to the strata scene.

I recently purchased a ground floor apartment and need to renovate (no structural changes, just refurbishing). I started to pull up the carpets and have found that the floor underneath is damp. I asked strata to send someone out to have a look as I thought it may have been a rising damp issue. Strata sent out the chairmen of the owners corporation to have a look and his view was that the dampness was caused by a leaking shower. The following day I received a call informing me that the strata board would contribute an amount to the water proofing of the shower. I'm not sure why they would do this as surly water proofing is the owners' responsibility ?

Any advise/ info is much appreciated.

      Thanks
