Our Strata Committee approved the removal of weeds and other rubble around the property.
We have two quotes of varying prices to do the work. Can the work on the cheaper quote go ahead? Or do we need another majority vote from the SC to approve it?
Basically, how does approval of quotes work?

Assuming you are in NSW, technically the committee needs to make the decision at a committee meeting, in which case the majority present (provided there is a quorum, being more than 50% of members) can make a decision.
If you are seeking approval via email, it’s best to wait until you have a majority.

Not sure what you mean by that, Nat. Are you saying, make sure you have support, or make sure you have a quorum?

They seem to be two different issues. The first is approval to seek quotes, the second is to approve the choice of contractor. Unless the first vote included a clause that the cheapest vote should be accepted, or that the committee should use its discretion, then I think you need another vote of some kind.
