Our block has a sloping driveway with a series of drains across it. The grates are broken and fall into the drains, presenting a significant safety hazard as well as creating repeated unpleasant noise. The concrete lip that supports the grates has worn, and I suspect will need repair. I have two questions.
1. Is it appropriate to ask this forum for recommendations/suggestions for a companies in Sydney who could do these repairs please?
2. This driveway is shared property with the block next door – each block owns half of the driveway (I’ll call these blocks A & B). It is clear that the blocks A & B will need to share the repair costs.
There is a carpark behind the buildings, that adjoins the parking area for 2 other neighbouring buildings (blocks C & D). Our driveway provides access to the whole parking area and is used by residents of blocks C & D.
Residents of blocks A & B have the right to use the driveway owned by blocks C & D. All buildings are on separate strata plans. Should blocks C & D pay a share of the repair costs? And if so, how do we get them to pay?
thank you
