Hi Flatchatters NSW

Our SM told us we need three weeks to hold an EGM? We questioned this and he said in order to have people contacted by mail they needed three weeks.

This does not seem right to me I thought it was one week or two at the most can any one give me the rulings for this? We believe he is just dragging things out on purpose.

The law says you have to give seven days’ notice. However, you have to take into account weekends, public holidays and postage. So in reality you have to allow two weeks from when the notice is sent out. Three weeks seems excessive but there may be special circumstances.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
