3 years ago, work was commissioned by the then chairman of our executive committee. The work was very shoddy, yet none of the complaints were actioned.

It has now come to light that the executive committee chairman is in a de facto relationship with the contractor, but did not disclose this conflict of interest with the rest of the OC. Other quotes for the work were submitted at the time, but the contractor in question quoted just under the rest.

That she didn't disclose her relationship, didn't act on complaints and clearly benefitted from the work is more than just unethical, it seems fraudulent and illegal. Does anyone know how we should deal with this? The woman is no longer on the executive committee, but remains a vocal member of the OC. The work amounts to over $4500 to each lot and the rest of the OC is fuming!

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum.
