Commiserations Jimmy, the worst of pet owning is having to let them go. Sounds like Trotsky was lucky enough to find a warm and loving home. I volunteered for Sydney Dogs and Cats for five years and I really don’t know how they would have coped without the help of wonderful foster careers. It’s appalling that a committee would seek to charge this person $100 each time they foster a cat and I would also question whether it’s legal. Where does the money go? Who administers it?
I’m so sorry for your loss, Jimmy. I can only imagine the heartbreak. You made Trotsky’s short life on earth a happy one. The love and adoration between pet and parent is pure and unconditional. I chose to foster cats/kittens because of the joy my cat brought me and I wanted to give them a safe and loving home. Even if they’re with me for a short time, I still miss them. When you choose to adopt again, you will give a loving cat a wonderful home.
