Flat Chat was named in Parliament today – in a good way.
Sydney MP Alex Greenwich asked the new Innovation and Better Regulation Minister Matt Kean if the government would take steps to protect strata residents by allowing us to pass by-laws restricting Airbnb.
Not only did he say he, like many other members, were keen reader of Flat Chat he mentioned JimmyT by name.
Most importantly, he said the government recognised the right of apartment residents to the peaceful enjoyment of their homes and quoted us saying strata already was part of the sharing economy.
Take a look at the video – although I have to say my overall impression was that our MPs are a rude and noisy bunch of yahoos
