Ever felt like the proverbial mushroom when it comes to strata information – kept in the dark and fed you-know-what?

Strata Managers of the Year, Strata Choice are about to shed some light on the myths and mysteries of apartment living when the first of their monthly seminars rolls out in a couple of weeks.

And strata owners and residents in Queensland are about to be enlightened too, when the state’s Body Corporate Commissioner hits the road.

Back in Sydney,  Strata Choice (our principal sponsors) start their program – which is open to all owners, regardless of who their strata manager is – in a couple of weeks.

Their seminar on by-laws and disputes, scheduled for August 28, is designed to give you a better understanding on the purpose of by-laws. It will include a general overview of by-laws and will discuss breaches, resolving disputes, notices to comply, mediation and Tribunal adjudication.

There’s more, including a link to register, on our Diary Page.

Meanwhile, the Body Corporates Commission for Queensland is setting out to reveal the realities of strata living to owners later this month.

The BCCM office has organised upcoming seminars for Central and North Queensland in late August and early September 2018.

The topics will include insurance, enforcing by-laws and body corporate decision making.  There will also be time allocated for Q & A sessions at the end of each seminar.

The Unit Owners Association of Queensland is encouraging its members from these areas to participate, get the facts and eradicate some of the fictions of strata living, straight from the horse’s mouth.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet in person with their staff and the Commissioner, who will be presenting at the Mackay and Rockhampton events,” says UOAQ President Wayne Stevens.

The seminars are in Mackay on Tuesday, August 28, Rockhampton on Wednesday 29th, Townsville on Tuesday, September 4, and Cairns on Wednesday 5th.

You can find more details about the events on our Diary Page or go straight to links for registration by clicking here.
