Here’s an item from the agenda for a Strata Committee meeting coming up at our Sydney block of 42 units. Details are changed to protect the ignorant.

“Item. 15. Correspondance. C. Unit 32 re tobacco smoke drifting into their unit: noted there is no bylaw prohibiting smoking. Discuss action to be taken.”

To a layman such as I, the new Strata Schemes Management Bill 2015 (NSW) seems to cover this. I regard our current committee as ill-informed and spineless. Please can anyone tell me what they should do? I am not involved but have great sympathy for Unit 32.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
