Can the strata committee members meet informally to discuss course of action or issues? We have interminable emails that go nowhere but could be cleared up with a short discussion.

There are only 5 of us but many many opinions

Although I’m not in Victoria, I’d say of course you can meet anywhere, any time, on no notice, unannounced and to discuss any topic. However, you can only make any decisions that bind the OC if you adhere to prescribed procedures.

As for the mess of emails, is there a manager you can depute to deal with them?

Also not in Victoria. However, I see no reason why committee members could not meet informally with little or no notice to quickly discuss that which might be complicated to communicate about by email. However, you can only make a decision at a meeting that is properly convened with whatever the required period of notice is in Victoria.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
