Is a balcony common property? The EC of my block are delaying giving me permission to install bifold windows on my balcony. Mine is the only balcony in the entire block of 24 that is still fully open. All others are enclosed. My proposal is completely in keeping with all of the others in terms of colour of frames, use of clear glass etc. They are delaying the process as they want to pass bylaws regarding the interior and exterior design of the heritage building. My concern is that I have grandchildren who could fall from the balcony so I would like to make it safe. I have explained to them that if at some future point all of the balcony enclosures are to be replaced with a more appropriate and uniform design then mine along with everyone elses could be replaced. This of course could take years and at least my balcony would be safe in the meantime. Any advice?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
