I own a unit in a multi-story inner city block. Recently I was informed I would need to replace the air-conditioning unit in my unit, as the AC technician (paid for by building or strata management) advised this was needed (my AC unit was not working effectively). I was told by the agent renting the property out for me that this was probably caused by water not getting through the line. I took this up with the building manager, who indicated that no one else was experiencing this problem. I went ahead and replaced my AC, but now learn from the recent minutes forwarded to me by my agent that quite a few other unit owners were experiencing the same problem. I would think I should not have had to pay for my AC's replacement given this was due to its not receiving adequate water flow through the (common property) pipes. I welcome advice.
