I have an air conditioner installed in my investment property. The remote control has gone missing since the property manager took the new tenant through the apartment prior to the tenant moving in. Both claim to have sighted it during that inspection. The tenant claims that it wasn't there any more when she moved in. The property manager claims that it was where he found it when they finished the inspection.

The tenant now wants a replacement remote control but the property manager says that I should pay for the replacement. To me that sounds wrong. What can I do about this?

Frankly, it's not worth the discussion when you can buy one on eBay for <$20 locally, or for <$10 from O/S (incl. postage).

Hmmm, I agree.  Console yourself with the thought that the moron who stole it is currently trying to work out why his new iPhone doesn't get a signal.
