    Hi All,

I have a nasty neighbour who likes to bully women in our complex, she’s decided to target me because I refuse to be bullied by her and is not intimidated by her and she hates it. She’s taken to saying inflammatory things to me from behind her screen door when I am on my patio or walking to my car. She will only do this ofcourse when I am alone, when my partner or other people are around she won’t say a peep. I’ve just been giving her the evil eye back and laughing at her when she does it.

I am documenting all her comments, dates and times when she does it. My question is basically what is my legal standing in this situation and what can I do?

Thanks in advance, appreciate all the replies.

I can’t suggest a single ‘right’ way to handle this. It depends a lot on your personality and what you feel comfortable to do or not do. If, aside from being annoying and offensive, she is not causing any serious harm, continuing to just ignore her would seem a good approach.

If she bullies others as well then perhaps talking to those other neighbours will help build a sense of mutual support for you all.

Does she have any specific grievance that could be addressed somehow?

Some people like to deal with such people by disarmingly going out of their way to be exceptionally nice to them.

As for doing anything legal. I don’t know but suspect it would have to be pretty severe abuse before a legal recourse would be worth the bother.

        Hi,

Bullies hate to be IGNORED!!!!!  They are, by definition, cowards…..ignore.  If greeted when accompanied be very polite, & quickly move away so as not to be her target.

        Good luck
