We all know about periods of notice that us tenants have to give such as to terminate a lease, and vice-versa from landlords. What about from Property Managers when they move the roll?
I'm in the middle of a communication problem with the Property Manager on my lease. As far as I can tell, two real estate agencies have merged their rental roll. This appears to mean I have to now pay my rent into a different bank account, but I only discovered all this by email. After the roll had been moved. And I still don't know the new account details. And I don't have any written documentation about this move.
I haven't gotten hold of the Property Manager yet – from past experience he can be difficult to get hold of. The owner of the first real estate was less than helpful and couldn't offer any sort of solution. It seemed like he didn't care. I would have liked a written apology from him and an amnesty on switching accounts in leui of proper notice.
Is there someone I can raise an official complaint to? The CTTT? The DFT? Some Real Estate association?
(And agents wonder why they have a questionable reputation…)
Wade.
