The chairman of our block insists that lot walls I want to remove are common walls because they support a plaster ceiling which will be damaged in the removal process. I can’t work out what the consequences of agreeing to his demands will be for me and the other owners. He obtained an opinion from a Strata Lawyer that agrees with him. Surely all lot walls are attached to common property at some location and removal will involve some degree of damage.
