Hi,
Just a simple straight forward question I believe. Are the security alarm systems installed inside my unit common property or the property of the owner. It has recently stopped working and not sure if it is a strata issue or if I’m allowed to bring someone in to fix it.

Almost certainly NOT common property – but it’s possible. The easiest way to check is to ask a neighbour if they have it too.

This probably depends on whether your security system is wired to your meter box, or whether it is wired to the common property meter box.
Might have been owned by the previous tenant.
It happens a lot with alarm system hardware where they leave it, and eventually, it gets shut off or breaks.
