Topic: Tenants in block required to put out bins

Hi there

Real Estate agent has sent a notice to all tenants notifying them that they will now be rostered to put out and bring in the rubbish bins for the block. There are three or four large wheely bins. Previously the bins were put out by a contractor.

The block of flats is owned by one owner.

Is this something the owner has the right to demand of tenants?

The owner can only demand this if it is in the rental agreement. Sounds like this cheapskate is happy to take your rent but no pay a few dollars a week for someone to look after the bins. Doesn’t your building have cleaners?

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum.
