Apologies if this is incorrect place to post and considered a silly question. I am reasonably new to Community living and only recently read some Financial Reports for our Strata Plan of 70 units and noticed along with complex electricity costs for common property areas there were rather large quarterly charges for Sewer and water (over $10K), and assume the charge is for Common Property usage for the 2 taps that the gardener uses to water garden and would have expected that to be a reasonably standard cost. As each unit pays individual sewer and water rates and pays an individual sewer and water connection fee as part of their Council Rates, why does the Strata Plan also pay such a high fee .

Is water usage individually metered in your strata complex?

Double check your water bill for water usage, mine for e.g. only includes the connection & service charges. The usage charges are levied to the the strata plan as a whole as our apartments don’t have individual water meters.

You can always ask the EC to check the bill & if it is excessive usage, hunt down any leaks.
