After 25 years of holding the AGM on the premises the venue was changed to the office of the strata manager without any approval of the strata committee.
Is the venue of the AGM the prerogative of the Owners Corporation or the strata manager?

Some strata managers fail to recognise that they are the servants of the Owners Corporation. They make decisions without reference to the committee.

Holding the meeting at their place is convenient for the strata manager.

Just check the agency agreement because there may be schedule B charges to hold the meetings outside business hours or if they have to travel.

Otherwise the committee has the right to specify where the meeting is held.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
