The original install was done before the AS/NZS4505:2012 was released, by about 13 years and had the motor replaced because of a theft about 10 years ago. FWIW In the time it had operated it did not have any reports of accidents to the EC and no current faults.
As the standard has changed within the last 12 months maybe that is what the contractor is talking about.
The current standard is 38 pages and the previous version of the standard released in 1998 is 11 pages. Going on the page count alone, it looks like there were quite a few changes.
