Very sad reading.
Living under a psychopath
Apparently 5% of the population are psychos,so in a in a block of 20 units, there’s 1.
I lived under the penthouse unit, owners installed a fish pond, the pond pump reverberated through the walls. strata manager said it’s a personal matter,my problem, this case proves that’s correct.
Sold and moved, never been happier.
First off commiserations…
Have had similar noise issues with upstairs unit.,spa pump on 24/7 vibration sound.
The occupant threatened me that if anything changes he will be after me.. owner is on owners committee.
Strata manager reply was it’s a personal matter , and hung up…
Sold up and moved on,
5% of people are psychopaths,in a block of 20, there’s 1 lurking around.
Start planning to move forward and get out of this situation.
Your mental health is not worth the strain of staying on
I also did not want to leave my strata
Now 3 years since moving and very glad I did
I thought of the legal route, glad I didn’t.
Simply give notice,i also lived in a unit under the penthouse were a deck has a 5 000 lt fish pond installed
the noise from the pump is heard clearlly at night, and the water is changed weekly
which flows down the gutter in the street
i asked council to look into the alterations and fish water flushing down the street
eventually nothing was done,a case of owner finding a lawyer to defend there right to do whatever they want to do,after the built ins, alterations installed
i sold up .leaving the problems to the new owners.not worth the stress of living with psychopaths as neighbours.just read through the posts about the stress and money lost pusuing your right to peacefull enjoyment of your lot…LOL.
My unit in potts point-sydney had smoke alarm in every room, which went off when ever someone burnt there toast–cooked a well done steak-
i spoke to the fireman,i dont come over to your house if you burn your toast, and give you a $500 bill for the visit, why do i get discriminated against becouse i live in a home unit and like to eat burnt toast !!!
came home 1 day to find the fire brigade had broken down every door on the 3rd floor to find a rouge sensor that decided to go off for no known reason, nice earner for the fire door installer,at $2500 odd for each 6 new doors!!! makes the painters and dockers union look good these installers, kickback to someone?
after talking to the council we were able to change over from smoke to heat alarm all but the hall way sensor, and now its managable
its not excessive to have a sensor in each room, what is is the 2nd class citizen you are living in a home unit
welcome to alarms going when when someone burns the toast,or steam from shower sets off alarm,oh and fire brigade will charge $100s of dollars to storm the building ,why are home units residents 2nd class citizens !!! if i want to have a traditinal ozzy BBQ,i will be charged for the fire alarm, yet if i live in a house,no worrys, turn the alarm off yourself.i,ve seen the fire brigade knock down every door,in a hallway of 6 ,to find a malfuncting ,rouge alarm going off.i lived in potts point were a few years ago after every building was told to install detectors ,fire trucks were going uo and down the road daily doing the same call outs over and over.why dont they go to the western suburbs of sydney were unit owners are unable to afford this ,and see the reaction, becouse the fire guys will be chassed out of the building, thats why
