Hi there,
As a result of a leak in the CP, the water ingress has caused some damage to the unit below, specifically the laminated floor. The OC will be fixing the leak. Who would be responsible for the damage to the laminated floor? The OC? Or should the owner of the unit submit a claim to their insurance?
Your comments and advice will be welcome/I am in NSW
It’s a big project 400K+ The Engineer has had all inspections, submission of tender, and is supervising the project. We are no experts and the engineer is overseeing the work.
The question is: is it legal to claim a fee on the GST which is a tax, not a service?
For example a contractor claims $10,000 + $1,000 GST, Total $11,000. I am paying a fee to my supervisor. Will that fee be on $10,000 or $ 11,000?
I understand the GST is a tax and as such is not taxable. Can you advise please?
Thank you very much for your reply which confirms my own thinking. I will have to sort this out with our treasurer and strata manager. Thank you again
Thank you for your reply.
If this money is a deposit should it be treated as a liability, as it is something you may have to ‘refund’ when the owner/resident move out?
Should it be placed in a separate account? hypothetically it could be repaid to all.
