Its hilarious how similar the EC crazies described here sound to our own, do they realize they're becoming a cliche!

 

Regarding JimmyT's recent point using past conduct against troublemakers, our EC is about to do the same to an OC member who was once chair of the EC and behaves as if she still is.

 

We'll hold an executive committee meeting, ask her to explain her actions (Executive Committee conflict of interest and fraud) and point out her own complaints and demands to be hypocritical and unreasonable in the face of her “crime”. We also want to have said “crime” noted in the strata records, essentially de-fanging her and preventing her from doing it again (she tried recently).

I would love to just let it slide (my lawyer said pull the trigger, I'm averse to litigation), but we're planning on renovating the rest of the apartment and she has basically said that she does not want any renovations of any kind and will do the same again.

 

I really don't want to go through adjudication with the CTTT again, it was the single-most unpleasant experience in my life. I have been advised that she could be sued for being vexatious and misleading, court is marginally preferable over CTTT.

It was voted on by the O/C as the lowest quote, without knowledge of the connection to the EC chair relationship with the contractor

• What was the total value of the work?

Quoted at $64000, an additional $5500 was added after the work was approved but before it commenced.

• Was the Builder Licensed?

Yes

• Was there a Written Contract between the Builder and the Owners Corporation?

There is no contract on record and the contractor apparently cannot find one.
