My water meter in a 20 year old townhouse block is faulty, leaking water all the time, only discovered yesterday by a plumber doing some work.
The Water Board has advised me that they only fix problems with the meter if it is within 1 metre from the entrance to the property. As the townhouse is in a back row of townhouses who is responsible for payment, I believe it to be about $500 as it is a tap or valve . This is unfair as a front townhouse can get theirs fixed for nothing whilst penalising any back row townhouses.
Does anyone have any workaround for this? We’re in Sydney.
