Dealing with Difficult Owners

First up, David Bannerman teams up with Deb Assheton from The Amplify Group to tackle one of the thorniest issues in strata management: what to do about owners who make meetings a misery.

The session will cover the legal protections available when meetings turn abusive, how and when to put communication protocols in place for problem owners, and practical de-escalation tactics that keep things procedurally fair.

There’ll also be a look at the broader trends currently shaping the working lives of strata managers.

A week later, Matthew Jenkins takes the reins for a session aimed at helping committees run tighter, more effective meetings.

Topics on the agenda include getting notices right, understanding when a decision can – and can’t – be ratified after the fact, spotting a dysfunctional committee before it derails everything, and keeping up with the latest training requirements for committee members.
