They say if you have a problem with a neighbour, the first thing you should do is quietly raise it with them and try to resolve it before an issue becomes a conflict.

But then there are the situations where it’s just too awkward to mention it face-to-face. Even a politely worded note won’t do the trick because at some point you are going to bump into this neighbour in the lobby or in the lift and they will know it was you who slipped it under their door.

What kind of situation do we mean?  Well, one Flatchatter has become aware of two other residents having noisy sex on the balcony of one of their flats, and it’s one very close by.

Now, she’s not worried that one of them is a tenant and the other is an owner – nor should she be – or that they are having a relationship.

It’s the fact that they are doing it on their balcony, and the grunts and groans are just a bit over the top.

Our Flatchatter’s problem is that she doesn’t want to confront the copulating couple, or go to the strata manager or committee because even that’s too close to home.

Should she contact Fair Trading, she asks? Well, that would be escalating matters to a whole new strata-sphere.  But then she shouldn’t have to put up with it either.

Or look at the list of “Your latest questions and answers” under the ads on the right of the page on a computer screen. Or at the bottom, after the ads and stories, on a tablet or phone.
finally, you can go “old school” and go to the Forum Home Page and work your way through the topics there.
