Flat Chat is back on James Valentine’s Afternoons on ABC Sydney radio – but more often and in a slightly different time slot.
As of last week, we’re on just after 2pm every second Tuesday, talking strata with James and his listeners, especially those who phone in with their questions.
This week we responded to a comment that strata laws are both inadequate and out of date by referring to the new regulations on strata managers’ transparency about commissions and relationships with service providers and developers came into force in NSW this week.
And we discussed and the NSW strata law changes that are in the pipeline.
With that in mind, Jimmy was asked how hard or easy is it to change strata managers and has a lot to say about the excellent work that good strata managers are doing.
And we fielded questions about multiple by-laws for the same common property changes, who’s responsible for not paying electricity bills, and what does “acting in the best interest of owners” actually mean.
