Damage in garage area

      Hi all,

      Recently had the misfortune of damaging a steel security fence in my secure garage area, shared by 3 other tenants…

      Security of the area is not compromised and was not visible to the 3 other tenants – 2 didn’t even notice the damage…

      The Strata body was notified via my real estate agent (I rent the unit) and I am now being asked to pay $1425.00 to have repairs effected…

      Surely the Strata body is insured against this contigency ?

      In fact, the maintenance company that came to inspect the damage, on behalf of the Strata, advised me that Strata’s insurance would cover it – of course that would now be regarded as hearsay and could not be relied on…

      Any advice or information would be much appreciated…

    PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum.
