One of the units in our building is leased and the owner’s agent has just written advising that there is a fault between the junction box and the tenant’s phone and requesting that we organise a “tradesman” to fix it. The agent said that it was common property and that it was our problem. I imagine that electrical lines through common walls might be common property but am not sure whether it is the Owners’ Corpn responsibility. Maybe the telephone line runs under the carpet in the apartment and maybe the problem is in the wall socket (?) leaving aside the somewhat strange behaviour of the agent who simply wants to pass the buck and avoid responsibility, does anyone have any thoughts on this.

(Some of these agents are interesting aren’t they. This one phoned and asked if I was “the strata” . I said no, I am actually a person. Silence while she tried to work that out).

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
