      Hi Flatchat,

I live in older block, and some time ago affixed a sheet of PVC type plastic to inside of the balcony railing to act as a screen. It’s a few inches higher than the railing and white in colour.

As stated, it’s an older block  and the plastic sheet doesn’t affect the appearance of the block at all. Lots of the other units around here use bamboo type material as balcony screens.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from our new Strata Manager, who said that he had received a complaint about my balcony screen, and wanted to have it removed or cut down to size of the railing – which would defeat the purpose of having it.

He would not tell me the name of the complainant, and said that this is “normal strata procedure”.    Is it “normal strata procedure” for a Manager not to disclose to the owner receiving a complaint, the identity of the owner who lodged it ?

      thank you,

      Bill
