thanks very much
Has anyone thought of installing a solarventi in their apartment? it might help solve the problem of sticking the washing outside if installed in a bathroom that has an open window..
I'm thinking of installing one in the bathroom so I can get two rooms for the price of one, a washing area and drying room all in one (if strata approves.. problem is I'm not in the top floor).. Don't have to worry about damp towels in the winter or drying washing with the weather forecasted to rain 5 days in a row, rushing home to take in the washing before it rains cats and dogs and then all those hours of sunshine wasted, free warm air in the bathroom keeping the bathroom dry, free of mould and condensation, in the winter when you dry yourself there is constant supply of warm air so you won't get chilled or kiddies get cold.
You can ditch the dryer and get dry clothes without the clothes falling apart all without effort and electricity..I think it would probably increase the property value since it is maintenance free.
My 2 cents
thanks Whale, now for question 2.. this might be bleeding obvious but do I use an architect to draw up the proposed rearrangement or the builder?
Thanks
ok… structure is…bedroom/bathroom/bedroom.. the wall in the rhs bedroom is dry…no bubbles, and this is the wall where the vanity is. so is the wall with bubbles common or not?
the bubbling is only around the shower area and is halfway down the wall at knee level. So should i request strata to send a plumber in or call a plumber in myself? I'm scared the plumber is going to need to rip the wall down to find out where the leak is, and I'm not prepared to start renovating as I have tenants living there, and haven't started shopping for anything.88
Hi,
Would uninstalling the track, screwing piece wood with brackets into the wall in preparation of attaching the front of the pelmut on ( trying to reduce the amount of drilling into the concrete wall ), need strata's permission? My strata only uses the 1996 act. The pelmut isn't an an original part of the apartment, I'm adding it on, but it will only be screwed into wood with the brackets. Also, is it better to get their tradies to do the job or can i find someone else? I'm just worried about the charge per hour ( his services have probably been used several times, and so strata would probably trust his work more than a tradie I find myself ) . He has told me it is a 3 hr * 2 tradie job uninstalling 5 sets of tracks and installing the new ones. – $55/hr per tradie.
well from the street I see some living/dining rooms have poles running above the sliding door, venetian blinds, flyscreens on the bedroom windows and flyscreen doors, so me changing the existing holland blinds and curtain tracks should be fine.
thanks for all the advice given.. turns out the strata manager I was dealing with had left the company, and the new strata manager is really attentive and is getting a tradie out to help me…just one q… I want to uninstall the existing blinds that you yank down and they flick up towards to ceiling, and install a different type (but still roller blinds from spotlight) can I ask the tradie to do that while he is fixing the sash window, or must I obtain approval before I uninstall anything?
