WHO would you check with to see how many thefts and break-ins there have been in the past! Its disappointing that VERY few people report low value theft/break-ins to Strata Committee/Police. (maybe because they think its a waste of time/effort.) Report ANY security breaches/theft to your Strata Committee/Police, Otherwise there will be nothing for anybody else to check in the future, OR for the Police to build a profile.

Here’s an Idea! Perhaps instead of telling Strata Communities their position is extremely short-sighted. Electric Vehicle Council CEO Behyad Jafari, and his organisation could be pro-active and research, and create a “standard bylaw” proposal that is compliant with strata law, and make it available to all!

I think Both Sir Humphrey & David Ng have miss interpreted the first line from the OP ( unit of housing department ) traditionally this style of housing is wholly owned & managed by a state government / local council / housing authority. As suggested by David Ng, check the fuse box first, if this is NOT an option, contact your point of contact at relevant government / council / authority, there may be the option to disable your mums power point in the Laundry.
( ie get an electrician to terminate the wiring behind the Power outlet! )

Whilst this this response is NOT meant to denigrate the above comment, I imagine the acceptable standard at a public pool would involve hygiene and cleanliness, So….What about those that would use the swimming pool, (private or public) whilst infected with a virus, or infant/ elderly incontinence.
The same standard expected at the supermarket, where infants/ young children are often seen sitting in the top shelf of the trolley, Or at the pub/hotel where you canine companion IS banned in food service areas, However those incontinent vomiting children are permitted.
What say you regarding canines that have saved children from drowning!

Try for a odd Number of Strata Committee Members, maybe 7 (Preferable) or 9, this makes it easier to get a majority,
and move things along. If you have a even number of strata committee members discussion / voting could be split 50/50 causing delays.
Imagine, IF the person “illegally” parking in your carspace came back, and all the Tyres were deflated, Do you think they would park there again!!!!!!!!

Some pedantic strata committee’ require a pets to be carried over common property, happy to be corrected, however my understanding in NSW is that a strata organisation cannot unreasonably refuse to allow you to keep a pet!
