At the risk of infuriating mental health professionals and family members of sufferers, I have to say there are few things worse in strata than having a “crazy” neighbour.
I’m thinking of the kind of person who may not be mentally ill but who seems to be constantly at war with themselves and those around them.
This could manifest as anything from playing loud music at antisocial times, abusing residents and visitors on common property or constantly complaining about their neighbours’ seemingly reasonable behaviour.
These unfortunate people may seem otherwise perfectly stable but they can obsess on one subject or target one individual and the result can be a torrent of abusive comments, emails, and notes under doors or pinned to walls and noticeboards.
Or it can just be a litany of official complaints and threats of legal action. That’s the dilemma facing one Flatchatter who is the target of complaints from a resident in a neighbouring building.
The neighbour’s alleged problem is about the exhaust air from his bathroom and air-con which she claims a harming her health. Are the fumes an issue?
You might think not, given that the same neighbour has targeted other individuals elsewhere in the building – leading to one of them eventually selling up and moving out.
Now our correspondent wants to know if it’s okay for the Owners Corp to use it’s funds to pay for legal action or defence against the neighbour. Needless to say, opinions differ HERE.

Alternatively, you can look at the list of “Your latest questions and answers” under the ads on the right of the page on a computer screen. Or at the bottom, after the ads and stories, on a tablet or phone.
Or you can go “old school” and go to the Forum Home Page and work your way through the topics there. Whichever route you take to get there, the best way to keep up to speed with what’s happening is to register (if you haven’t already done so), then login and subscribe for free to the topics that interest you most.
