A top secret WWII air defence bunker is set to take on a new life with a buyer keen to renovate the man-made underground cavern and make it their new home.

The bunker at Mullers Road, Mount Tarampa, neat Toowoomba, was built around 1943 by the RAAF alongside its Lowood air strip and was camouflaged to resemble a farmhouse.

Military history buffs have been drooling over the online ads with Kent Rohl, a real estate agent with EXP Realty, saying a video he posted was viewed 120,000 times.

“It was a secret communications bunker,” Rohl says. “The buyer fell in love with it and wants to buy it for her personal home.”
