Were we bullied?

Our 8 year battle to enclose our balconies is over and as I reflect back on the grief the SC put us through I feel we have been bullied. Do you agree?

2010 Owners agreed to replace windows

2011 DA approved. 16 owners are enclosing their lot owned balconies
2014 Project manager tossed out.  Terrible
2016  Two SC members staged coup. Owners told they can’t enclose. Idea not fire compliant. NCAT rescinded the motion.  Why are SC’s allowed to propose an illegal motion?
2017  Three owners go it alone. OC lawyer advises the SC they can’t stop us.  SC ignore the advice. Owners kept in the dark – not told lawyers advice.  Money raised to fight us.  Went all the way to NCAT hearing where the SC capitulated.  We were later advised they thought the pressure would make us withdraw our application
2018  2019  Construction. SC member arranged a car to block the erecting of the scaffold for 44 days. SC hounded and harassed Council and Principal Certifier. They took pics of the inside of our homes from another unit. They told the owners  “We have stopped the works….”.  In every case their allegations were proved false. Did they tell the owners all their allegations amounted to nothing – no way!  Right up to the 3^rd last day of construction they tried to stop our works.

The works are complete now and we are extremely happy with the result.  Our section of the building looks modern and we have a larger living room rather than a tiny balcony that was windswept and unusable.  However it came with a huge amount of grief provided to us by those on the SC that are investors and the ‘building manager’.  At the end of the day the SC wasted $57,000 of owners money on legal fees despite knowing at the outset they could not stop us.

How can this be allowed to happen?  How can SC’s be made more accountable?  SC’s should have consequences when they act in this way.  Has anyone else experienced such appalling treatment?
